Arnold · Ebbetts Pass corridor

Cabin plumbing at 4,000 feet, handled

Arnold plumbing has a season, and it’s winter. Pipes freeze in vented crawlspaces, cabins sit empty between visits, and small leaks become flooded floors before anyone’s back up the hill. We work the Highway 4 corridor year-round — Blue Lake Springs to Big Trees — on the Calaveras line: (209) 754-5444.

Freeze breaks: the Arnold classic

A hard snap, a crawlspace vent left open, and a supply line lets go — sometimes while the house is empty. We find the break, fix it properly instead of clamping over split pipe, and check the rest of the run while we’re under there, because freeze damage rarely stops at one spot.

Winterize before the snow

The cheap insurance: insulating exposed runs, heat tape where it earns its keep, hose bibs done right, and a proper shutoff-and-drain routine for cabins that sit empty. One visit in the fall beats a February flood — and we’ll show you the main shutoff while we’re at it.

Water heaters and the rest, at elevation

Cold inlet water and cabin layouts change the math on water heaters — sizing, recovery, freeze protection on tankless units. We install and repair both kinds, service wells and pressure tanks along the corridor, and give straight answers about what holds up at altitude.

Straight answers for Arnold

A pipe burst while we were away — what now?

Shut the main off if you can — call and we'll walk you through finding it — then get us moving. We fix the break properly, pressure-test, and check the neighboring runs; freeze damage usually isn't a single point.

When should we winterize?

Before Thanksgiving, realistically — the first hard freeze in Arnold doesn't wait for the calendar. If the cabin will sit empty, a shutoff-and-drain visit is the best money you'll spend on it.

Do you come up Highway 4 in winter?

Year-round. In a storm we'll give you a straight answer on timing instead of a promise we can't keep — and we'll talk you through damage control on the phone in the meantime.
